Our primary area of focus is the upper cervical spine, also known as the Cranio-Cervical Junction. The upper cervical spine, comprising the atlas (C1) and axis (C2) vertebrae, plays a critical role in both structural support and neurological function. It supports the skull, facilitates a wide range of head movements, and protects the brainstem, which controls vital autonomic functions such as breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure. Misalignments or subluxations in this region can disrupt nerve communication between the brain and body, potentially leading to widespread health issues. Because of its proximity to the central nervous system, maintaining proper alignment in the upper cervical spine is essential for overall wellness and neurological integrity. Once the upper cervical spine has been analyzed and adjusted, Dr. Langel can assess the rest of the spine, extremities, TMJ and/or cranium.

Dr. Langel is the developer of Langel Upper Cervical Technique. This method emphasizes the neurological tone of the body, aiming to optimize nervous system function rather than just correcting structural misalignments. This approach prioritizes accuracy, safety, and lasting results—helping you achieve better health through precise spinal alignment.
Key Aspects of Langel Upper Cervical Technique:
• Tonal Chiropractic Influence: This approach integrates tonal chiropractic principles, which focus on the body's innate intelligence and neurological balance rather than solely on biomechanical adjustments.
• Upper Cervical Focus: It specifically targets the upper cervical spine, recognizing that misalignments in this area can have widespread effects on the nervous system and overall health.
• Gentle Adjustments: Unlike traditional forceful manipulations, tonal upper cervical techniques use precise, low-force, instrument-based corrections to encourage the body’s natural ability to self-regulate and heal.
• Neurological Optimization: The goal is to enhance communication between the brain and body, improving overall function and well-being.
• Non-Invasive: Unlike other upper cervical chiropractic techniques, no x-rays or invasive imaging is necessary to find the location and correction of the subluxation.
This technique is particularly beneficial for conditions like migraines, vertigo, TMJ, post-concussion symptoms, and chronic pain, offering a non-invasive path to improved neurological function and overall wellness.
Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique (AMCT) is a gentle, low-force approach to spinal and joint adjustments that uses a handheld instrument called the Activator. This device delivers quick, targeted impulses to specific areas of the spine or extremities to restore motion, reduce pain, and improve nervous system function. Unlike traditional manual adjustments that involve twisting or cracking, the Activator Method is precise and comfortable, making it ideal for patients of all ages, including those with chronic pain or sensitivity. It’s supported by extensive research and is widely used by chiropractors for its safety, effectiveness, and consistency.

Blye Cranial Technique is a neurologically-based chiropractic method developed by Dr. John Blye that focuses on correcting cranial subluxations—misalignments or restrictions in the bones of the skull. These cranial bones, connected by sutures, are meant to move slightly to facilitate proper circulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and maintain normal intracranial pressure. When this movement is impaired due to stress, trauma, or other factors, it can lead to symptoms such as headaches, brain fog, memory issues, and neurological dysfunction. The Blye Cranial Technique uses the Activator instrument to deliver precise, low-force adjustments to restore cranial motion, reduce nerve pressure, and normalize brain function. Unlike craniosacral therapy, this technique is subluxation-specific and can produce rapid improvements in physical, mental, and neurological health.
Koren Specific Technique (KST) is a gentle, noninvasive chiropractic method developed by Dr. Tedd Koren in 2003 that uses biofeedback and a handheld instrument called the ArthroStim to identify and correct areas of stress, interference, or subluxation in the body. Unlike traditional chiropractic techniques that involve manual manipulation, KST relies on a three-step process—Challenge, Check, and Correct—to analyze the body’s structural and energetic imbalances using a binary feedback system known as the Occipital Drop. This allows practitioners to make precise, low-force adjustments tailored to each patient’s unique needs, often while the patient is in various postures that reveal hidden dysfunctions. KST is used by a wide range of healthcare professionals and is praised for its ability to address physical, emotional, and neurological issues comfortably and effectively, making it suitable for patients of all ages.
